Delinquent Accounts

If an account is not paid on time, the account becomes delinquent and is subject to disconnect. K.C. Electric will try to work with members who find themselves unable to pay their electric bill, if they contact the office. A Disconnect Notice will be mailed out stating the amount due and a date by which payment must be received. If it becomes necessary for K.C. Electric to visit the site either to disconnect the service or collect payment, a $95.00 collection charge will be charged to the account. Should disconnection take place, an additional $95.00 charge will be billed for resetting the meter.

K.C. Electric will charge a one and a half percent (1.5%) late fee plus five dollars ($5.00) on the monthly balance of each member’s delinquent account with K.C. Electric. The late payment fee will be added to the balance of the member’s delinquent account each month, with the new balance subject to the late fee until the bill is paid or the service is terminated.
